After a busy morning of opening gifts, crepes, and allowing Kai to run around while drinking his milk (crazy times!!), we waltzed outside to enjoy the snow before it all melted away. Grandad Dave cruised into town the previous day and provided some tobogganing lessons, showing us how to narrowly avoid some trees carrying Kai (and give Louise a good fright in the process!). The melting snow provided some slick runs and Kai was full of smiles on each one - further confirmation that we have a speed-addict growing in our midsts.
The afternoon was busy whipping up a feast while Kaister snoozed away. Gotta give props to Whole Foods - we ordered an organic turkey from them a few days ago; when I went to pick it up yesterday, they asked if I wanted an 18lb turkey. I had requested a 14lb-er, so 18lbs was a bit too much. I asked if they had anything else, but they had messed up and didn't order enough to fulfill my order. So because they had messed up, they offered the turkey FOR FREE! An 18lb organic turkey for free - how cool is that?? So if you see anyone from Whole Foods, please give them an additional 'thank you' for the Fennell family again!
The downside is that the Fennell family will now be eating turkey leftovers roughly until the vernal equinox. Anyone got any creative recipes to share??
Oh, and to Dave, who left a comment the other day - you stink!! Most of our snow melted today... Consider our noses rubbed :-)

iWe usually make a pot pie or two and freeze them for another day. Or turkey chili is good too.
