Couldn't resist videos

Yesterday was my birthday and my super excellent husband sent me to a hotel so I could SLEEP. Ah, heaven! I also indulged in a massage, room service, some wine and TV! It was decadent. Greg and the kiddos visited me in the morning and enjoyed jumping on the bed, riding in the elevators, watching planes take off (I was on the 18th floor with a view of the harbor and some of the runways at Logan), and making a big mess in the hotel restaurant.

In the afternoon they headed out on a secret mission. When they got home Kai "sung like a canary" as Greg put it:

Me: Where did you go?
Kai: To the ice cream store.
Me: What did you buy?
Kai: Mommy's cake.

And a yummy cake it was and made even more yummy by my family singing happy birthday. It is one of Kai's favorite songs and Teia has even partly mastered it!

Tonight Kai asked for his piece of cake with a "candle in a candle stick on it" so he could sing happy birthday to Teia. Teia's birthday isn't for 7 more months but she enjoyed the attention anyway and Kai enjoyed blowing out the candle!

This next video has got to be one of my all time favorites: With Teia's enthusiastic reception of his performance, Greg might be encouraged to get serious about his bongos! If the job doesn't work out in CA, there is always busking.

The Many Faces of Miss T

Blogging has once again fallen to the very bottom of the to do list. I have photos and stories to share, just no time to do it. Now that Greg has handed in a rough draft of his thesis, maybe you'll hear from him once in awhile again.

Thought I'd share a few recent photos of our littlest one. She is growing up and changing so fast I fear I'll miss blogging about a whole phase of her development if I don't make some time!

Crazy hair, crazy girl!

Her sweetest side, blowing kisses.

Insisting on wearing big brother's jacket.

Complaining or playing peekaboo.

Pretty excited to be wearing Mama's watch (and sporting a new haircut!)

Super Teia!

"Oh no, don't you tell me I can't step on this ge-tar case!"

"Who me?"

Her fashion sense continues to develop.

Cute and messy. This is how she makes sure we don't forget her bath - dinner in the hair.
Dancing with Kai's teddy bear's scarf.

Really gettin' down now!

The Home Stretch

We have about 3.5 months left in MA. We are in the home stretch now. This has been a crazy few years. We expanded our family by 1 (or 2 actually if you count Mr. Mommy but he doesn't eat much; in fact he is still on the same container of fish food we bought him last June!), we started driving a mini-van (and that is ca-razy), we survived (she says optimistically) grad school at MIT, we made some new friends and we took a few fun trips.

Greg and I have been married now nearly 5 years and we met just over 7 years ago. We've been busy:

2004 was the year of meeting and getting to know each other - each of us having events happen in our lives in April 04 that caused us to both be in Hawaii that fall and then it all began....

2005 was the year of  being very busy - getting engaged, wedding planning and travel - lots of wonderful travel - New Zealand, France, Ireland, England, Canada, mainland US, inter-island. Oh and selling Greg's condo and buying our Kailua place.

2006 was the year of our wedding - seeing so many of our family and friends and some travel in there too.

2007 was the year of Kai. We became parents and fell hopelessly in love.

2008 was the end of tropical island life and our move to the North East. That year brought challenges as well as some good times, as always.

2009 was the year of being pregnant. Since Teia was born in mid-October, I spent most of that year sick, tired and uncomfortable but the end result was our little Power Peach .... entirely worth it.

2010 was a blur .....

2011 is the year we pack up again and head West...and South...to San Diego. Yep, SoCal. Kai gets to grow up on the beach after all!
