Apple picking was definitely his thing! Who would have known it could be such a toddler friendly activity? I guess he has grown up quite a bit since our blueberry picking escapes of late August. This time he was a willing helper, picking apples and putting them in the bag.
He also thought it was fun to take the apples out of the bag and throw them and he wasn't too discerning about whose bag o' apples he was pluckin' from so we had to keep a close eye! Greg and I had to laugh as we realized that our toddler likes to throw everything, except of course, balls. Those are just far too conventional for our Kai!
To continue our celebration of our first fall in at 4 years and Kai's first ever fall, we had fried apples and ice cream for dinner and lit a fire in our fireplace. To add to our day of firsts, poor Kai got his first fat lip today after taking a header on our hardwood floor as he scurried about. Poor guy was pretty freaked out but he woke up from his nap, full up on vitamin I, a happy camper and none the worse for wear. We did what we could for the rest of the day to keep him at walking speed.
