Water Babies

The littles have been very busy this summer having adventures. I have my blog-work cut out for me to keep up with them! We just had a visit from Michelle and the girls and as often happens when friends come to stay, we take a break from our routine and spend more time at the beach.

Ella and Claire thought stand up paddling would be fun to try so we rented a few boards on the calm bayside waters. Everyone had a turn and a great time. I put Kai on the front of my board but he wasn't having the sitting and riding, immediately trying to swipe my paddle and stand up. So I took him in and gave him a little lesson.

Teia wasn't too interested in doing any paddling herself but really enjoyed being paddled around and jumping off the board.

She also thought that a SUP board might be great places to take a nap.

The kids discovered that they enjoyed dipping their hair in the ocean. These SUP boards are pretty versatile!

On a different beach outing Teia discovered that she loves body surfing. She spent the week doing her best to keep up with the big girls, including doing what they were doing in the ocean. Waves splashed over her head and she put on a brave face until she was actually enjoying herself! Hard to believe she was scared of the surf 7 months ago! 

Oh, and they built a great sand castle too!

San Diego has opened a new waterfront park downtown so we tried it out for some more water fun. 

Like I said....water babies!
